Frequently Asked Questions: Are donations tax deductible?What is the focus of your work?Our primary emphasis at this time is providing educational and vocational training to children living in orphanages. We currently teach woodworking, computer classes, English language instruction and provide spiritual instruction.
How are you funded?We do not receive a salary, nor are we funded by a denomination or foundation. Our entire support comes friends, family, businesses, churches and individuals like you who have seen the work we are doing and believe in the value of it.
How can I help?Our primary need at this point is financial support. As parents with six children we need help to cover our operational expenses as well as pay our bills. Donations of laptops for the students in our computer classes are greatly appreciated. If you would like to volunteer your time we can arrange for your stay at one of the orphanages we work at.
How are donations spent?The support we receive at this time is quite limited. We live simply and funds are first used to pay our rent, bills, food and schooling of our children. Next come operational expenses such as telephone, internet, transportation and vehicle repairs. Lastly any remaining funds are used to purchase equipment for the orphanages to improve our educational programs. How long do you plan to stay in Guatemala?We are committed to our work here, however being as we are fully dependent on donations to stay here unless our support increases it will be difficult to remain. |
