We are Timothy and Sharie Martiny, missionaries in Guatemala with our six children, Julia (12), Audrey (8), Vanessa (6) Jessica (4), Alex (2) and Alison (baby). We both come from missionary families and were raised overseas, Timothy in Europe, and Sharie in South East Asia and Mexico. Before moving to Guatemala we worked with "Cheer Up Missions" in New Orleans, LA, Shipping containers of medical supplies to Central and South America and bringing wheelchairs to disabled children and adults. We also worked with "Frontline Missions" in Tampa, FL, where we worked to collect donated food for Metropolitan Ministries and Faith Children's homes. We have been in Guatemala for eight years and 4 of our children were born here. Our work includes, preaching the Gospel, orphan education and job training, food distribution, personal counseling, humanitarian aid and Bible classes. We are striving to make a difference in the hearts and lives of the people here in Guatemala, to improve the lives of those we come in contact with. We do what can to improve their physical situation, but most importantly we work to plant a seed of hope in their hearts, to encourage them and to help them understand that God loves them. We are full time volunteers who give all our time and energy to helping others. We do not receive a salary but are supported through the donations of friends, family, churches, and business who have seen the value of the work we do. We are a partner project of the Family Care Foundation, a non-profit 501c3 and as such are eligible to receive tax deductible donations. We are currently in need of “Personal Sponsors” who can help us with donations and the regular support we need to live here and continue with our work. |
